PRF Welcome Statement from IASP President Dr. Andrew SC Rice

Posted September 12, 2025 |

The mission of the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) is to support research, education, clinical treatment, and better patient outcomes for all pain conditions. So I’m delighted to welcome the Pain Research Forum, in its newest iteration, as an active part of the IASP. PRF’s mission, “Fostering dialog and community globally to speed scientific discovery and improve pain care,” is fully aligned with IASP’s. From the return of the popular Editors’ picks from Papers of the Week, to dynamic new content created by PRF’s Early Career Contributors, there is much to be excited about at PRF. I look forward to new podcasts and videos from PRF, and I can’t wait to see the content they produce at the 2026 Global Congress in Bangkok. Look for more developing content at PRF, including Spanish translations, and more ways to engage people with lived experience of chronic pain in your research. PRF is free and easy to join, and the community will thrive with your engagement, so I encourage you to become a part of the Pain Research Forum today!
