Posted July 29, 2026 |

We are pleased to announce an upcoming IASP webinar, “Human-Centered Approaches to Neuropathic Pain: From Mechanisms to Translation,” taking place on 24 September 2026 at 11:00 a.m. EDT. This webinar is free to all.

Part 2 of the Translational Science in Neuropathic Pain series, presented by IASP Global Year 2026 Task Force members and invited presenters, this session explores how human-based methodologies are reshaping our understanding of neuropathic pain mechanisms and opening new avenues for diagnosis and therapy. Ted Price will present work from human dorsal root ganglion and peripheral nerve tissue linking nociceptor hyperexcitability and neuronal degeneration to chronic pain; Jordi Serra will discuss microneurography as a translational bridge from bench to bedside; and Manuela Schmidt will present systems-level proteomic approaches integrating human biospecimens to probe host–microbiome interactions in pain.

Moderators: Angelika Lampert, Diana Tavares-Ferreira, Daniela Maria Menichella, and Patrick Dougherty
