🌍 About the Speakers & Talk
The Tucson Drug Club is excited to host Dr. Massieh Moayedi and Dr. Stephanie Bourke to present their research on the role of endocannabinoids in pain perception and chronification!
| Dr. Massieh Moayedi
Associate Professor, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto Dr. Massieh Moayedi is an Associate Professor in the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry and co-director of the Centre for Multimodal Sensorimotor and Pain Research, where he studies pain modulatory mechanisms in healthy and chronic pain. Dr. Moayedi obtained his PhD at the University of Toronto and completed his postdoctoral studies at University College London. |
Dr. Stephanie Bourke
Postdoctoral Researcher, Moayedi Lab, University of Toronto Dr. Stephanie Bourke completed her PhD at the University of Galway, Ireland, under Prof. David Finn, using a translational approach to study the neurobiology of stress-pain interactions in acute and chronic pain, with a focus on the endocannabinoid system. She is now a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Massieh Moayedi’s lab at the University of Toronto, using neuroimaging to investigate stress-pain interactions and acute orofacial pain, and is an early career contributor for the Pain Research Forum. |
