Registration for the 4th annual Maixner Pain Research Symposium is now open.

Symposium will be held onDecember 2nd , 2026, 9:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

This symposium was established in honor of the late Dr. William “Bill” Maixner, Joannes H. Karis, MD, Professor of Anesthesiology at Duke University and a world renowned pioneer in pain research. The event brings together pain researchers and clinicians from North Carolina academic hubs, including Duke, UNC, NC State, and Wake Forest, to 1) share exciting new advances in pain research and pain management, 2) stimulate organic collaborative opportunities, and 3) promote professional development of early car

eer students and trainees.

Students and trainees are encouraged to showcase their most recent and impactful research at the symposium. Poster abstracts are due by Friday, October 16.
