The Department of Integrative Biology and Pharmacology in the McGovern Medical School invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor studying mechanisms and/or biological consequences of cell signaling, including pain signaling. We are especially interested in applicants with a cross-disciplinary research program that integrates in vitro molecular approaches with in vivo models.
Successful candidates will join a highly interactive, multi-disciplinary group with research interests ranging from basic membrane biology and molecular pharmacology to whole animal physiology and pathology. Responsibilities include the development of an extramurally funded, internationally recognized research program and active participation in medical and graduate education. Appointments will be at the Assistant Professor level for candidates completing their postdoctoral training.
McGovern Medical School is a part of the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and is located within the Texas Medical Center, which also includes Baylor College of Medicine, Rice University and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
